Two Methods to Change Default Video Player
Method 1
The first method is really quite simple. Simply uninstall the MX player from your Android device and it will no longer be the default video player. Everybody should know how to do this, but in case you do not, do not worry, we will show you. The easiest way is to find MX player in your app list and press and hold it. A few options should pop up on the top of the screen, one of them begins the Uninstall option. Move the MX player app icon to the said Uninstall option and release. You will be prompted by a window to confirm that you indeed do want to uninstall MX player. Click Uninstall and MX player will be removed from your device.
The second way is a little more complicated but still easy. Open Settings. Once in settings, find the Apps section and open it. This should open the list of all the apps installed on your device. If not, then try to find the See all apps option. Once you are in the list of all your installed apps, locate MX player. Click on it. Once you have opened the MX player app options, you will see the Uninstall button. When you click it, a window will prompt you to confirm that you want to uninstall the app. Confirm the uninstall and MX player will be safely removed from your device.
Once the MX player has been removed from your device, it will no longer be the default video player. But what if you do not want to uninstall MX player, but want to remove it as the default video player? Then you will need to follow the second method.
Method 2
The second method does not require you do remove MX player from your device. Go to Settings. Open the Apps & notifications section. Tap See all apps. This will open a list of all your installed apps. Find the MX player and open it. Tap the Advanced option to expand the list of options. Open the Open by default option. Here you will see a Clear defaults button. Tap it. That is it.
